Motor Home Life

A few of the choice moments of life in a Motorhome for the uninitiated.

  1. Privacy. There is none, as a married couple with decades of experience this isn't a huge issue. But!
  2. We sit at the front to drive. We swap regularly, so when I drive, he fiddles, photographs and reprograms the screen on the dash. We lovingly call her Nav Bitch. She yells at us for going to fast, for not turning at the right spots, she's s bitch. But we love her, and we need her.
  3. When Mike drives, I sew. I'm working on a new quilt called Posh Psls.  9 x 9" blocks of simple stitchers that will form the basis of a quilt. Keeps me happy and not bored.
  4. Behind the big driving seats is the table, and s seat. This is planning station, work station, dining room, and part wardrobe.
  5. Next to that is a single chair. Wardrobe, storage for all manner of bits.
  6. Then the door, which is also the rubbish bin, the tea towel holder, and sometimes clothesline. We multi task like a demon.
  7. The kitchen is about 50cm, with sink, cupboards and 3 hot plates. Here I create gourmet delights! Thankfully the array of great European food such as knedlihe and sausage, packs of pasta, chicken and soups that come in packets is outstanding. Billa is my fsvourite shop. We have only eaten out once. That was a roadhouse in Poland.
  8. The bathroom is smaller than the kitchen. It has a loo! A basin, and apparently can open out to be a shower. We haven't used it. The water pressure would mean running through the drips like Usain Bolt on crack. Not worth the effort. So we saddle up and use road house bathrooms instead.
  9. Then the bed.  Up the ladder! Thank God I lost 63kg is all I can say. I'm a dab hand at the ladder now.  The bed is s queen size, slatted base, and remarkably comfortable. Underneath is storage for the cases doc.
It's a fantastic little rig.  Long term? No, there is no way I could do it long term. But for a week, it's amazing

  1. Sounds great, we did do a road trip in a classic VW campervan many years ago when the kids were small
